Mindful Moments

Most of us are of sound mind, but many of us have trouble maintaining a note of harmony and peace. Most of us know how to think, but few of us are able to control our thoughts. We all have the capacity to be creative, to image new ideas, but few of us are able to do it together and co-create in harmony with each other. We could all do with some mental training so that we may use the most powerful energy in the universe, the mind, which is always at our instant disposal. We can begin with mindfulness. It's a simple way to gently help our mind go where it is best to go, do what is the best thing to do. It begins by simply being fully aware of what you are doing. Mostly we are not fully aware, as our minds wander into the past and then into possible futures. We spend most of our time watching others and so rarely fully focus on what we are actually doing ourselves. Next time you sit down to a meal, watch your self. Be aware of only what you are eating. Every time your mind wants to wander, bring it gently and lovingly back to the action and sensation of eating. Then do the same when cleaning, when writing, when working. The more you do it stronger and more focused and more rational will be your concentration, the more natural will be your actions, the more peaceful you will feel, and the more relaxed you will be, no matter what you are doing.

Give Happiness

Great souls take advantage of every moment and every opportunity to give happiness to others through kindness in their thoughts; such souls are willing to overlook weaknesses and mistakes and have the desire to help everyone reach their potential.

Do it Now!

Why do we delay doing what we know we need to do? Is it because we feel we 'have to' to do it? Is it because we cannot clearly see the benefits? Is it because we will need to move some twigs in the nest of our comfort zone? Is it because we fool ourselves into waiting till we feel like doing it? Is it because someone else might be more advantaged than us? Is it because we are just plain lazy? It's probably a bit of all of those. But one thing is for sure - you've already done it in your mind! And as long as there is a gap between your thoughts and your actions then there will be an inner tension which is draining your power - whether you are aware of it or not. Do it, delegate it or dump it!

Tolerance

Someone who has tolerance won't even say "I have to tolerate," because that implies they are feeling sorrow. Instead, they will say, "It's not a problem. There is something for me to learn in this." Whatever the situation, tolerance enables me to learn. Perhaps I need patience, or humility, or understanding. Tolerance allows me peace, and my love to stay constant. That way I stay connected with the Source of all that is good, so that I can help both myself and others.

See the sweetness

I came to the realization of how much we take things for granted. Following my recuperation from a freak accident two and a half weeks ago. I have learned to appreciate the little things in life for instance like taking a bath…this bare activity may seem unimportant but having to be in a cast (POP), trying to get around in crutches for two and a half weeks and going! To perform that simple activity is HARDWORK!!!

I also realized how much I valued my life and the people that encircle me.  Some Family, friends, acquaintances, work friends, strangers, I- just- met –you- for –the- first- time kind of people but they have all contributed to my testimony which I so speak today and thankful to the almighty GOD.
The accident is one I want to put behind me and pray it never happens to my enemy. I remain thankful as always to God because it could have been worse! One of the  lessons I learned from this whole experience is that there are good people around us. We still have selfless people even in this very untrusting, cold and selfish world that we live in. That no matter how bad people may seem, they possess at least one virtue.  Take for example the men who came to my aid and made sure I got first aid treatment and assisted with ensuring I get proper medical attention  are the same ones to some other persons may find them as unkind and self-interested. To me, I remember them as heroes and I pray for them each day that they too will find favour wherever they go.
For all those of stood by me in these trying times -family, friends, work friends, brethren from church, the I -just- met –you- for –the- first- time. Your prayers, phone calls, text messages, well wishes are very much appreciated.
I know now that the world is not as bad as it is, peace, goodness, love, kindness very much exists. And if you have not experienced any of these you know what they are, try and give them and if you still don’t receive it probably someone close to you may experience it just  because you have given one of such wonderful acts earlier in time.

New Perspective

I have to deal with the fact that for weeks to come, I wake up early than the early bird itself.  This is all new and I hate it!

At work, things are changing from the way I had come to see them to something I cannot fathom.  It overwhelms me at times…*Thinking*… They say the only thing constant in life is CHANGE.  How do I wait on this whole process? I need to do some getting used to. It requires me changing my perspective; everything in life must live its lifespan.

It is easy to create new things, change places or do something different. To keep that sense of newness that creates enthusiasm is more difficult. The secret of newness in life is not to do new things constantly, but to see everything you do with new eyes, new insights and a new perspective.

And that is how is see it !

Make up

While we spend much time 'making up' our faces to ensure our appearance is beautiful for others, we forget to make up our minds. This is not about making decisions. Making up our mind means ensuring that our thoughts are positive and our feelings towards others are filled with good wishes. When we do, others begin to sense a deeper beauty emanating from behind the skin! This is inner beauty. Don't hide behind your face. Let the real you show through.
