Listen In
Only when we find the quietness in our own minds can we begin to hear our inner teacher, so that we may receive some in-tuition. Only when we are ready to recognize and value the wisdom that we carry at the core of our being will we turn our attention inwards and 'listen in'. But it's been a long time since we truly listened, so a little practice and patience will be needed. Sit down, be quiet and listen in at some point today and you might be surprised at what you hear. Then do it again tomorrow. All you need to do is remember that you are the listener and not the noise.

Fashion Advice
What color shoes
should I get to go with a royal blue knee length dress for posh wedding?
Royal blue looks fabulous with a number of colors. If you
want to wear something festive and glitzy since it is a posh wedding look at
silver shoes with sparkles or neutral/beige with sparkles. Both colors look
good with royal blue.
What color
accessories should be worn with a stripe ivory and black dress and fuchsia
shoes?
A black or fuchsia bag would look chic with your stripe
ivory and black dress and fuchsia shoes. Choose jewelry that flatters your skin
tone and hair color. Pearl, metal (silver or gold) or a combination metal &
pearl jewelry will look good with your outfit.

Power To Tolerate
You have the power to tolerate anyone and any situation. But tolerance is not just suffering in silence. It means going beyond any personal discomfort you may feel, and giving a gift to whom so ever you would tolerate. Give your time, attention, understanding, compassion, care - all are gifts, which paradoxically, you also receive in the process of giving. And, as you do, you will experience your own self-esteem and inner strength grow. In this way you can turn tolerance into strength.

Heart Song
Everyone has a song in their heart. Everyone has a reason for being here and a season for making their highest, greatest most auspicious contribution. No one knows what that is or when that is for anyone else. Only our own heart knows what and when it is for us. Your heart wants to sing. Don’t die with your music still within you. There is a reason for everything and a purpose to your life. Too many fail to listen to the song in their heart and therefore fail to find their purpose and their part. What makes your soul sing and your heart dance? Actually you heart is your soul and you are both! Ask this one question of yourself but don’t be in a hurry to answer it. Live in the question for a day, a week, a month. Let it invite your heart to speak to you. And when you are absolutely sure what your heart is saying is true then begin to invoke the changes necessary in your life so that you live in alignment with your song. Be patient with this.
There Are No Words...
In the face of such monumental tragedy, words seem inadequate. The nation mourn on the crash of Dana Air flight 0992 - June 3 , 2012.
To the families who lost their loved ones, may God grant them the fortitude to bear this irreplaceble loss.
Remember
Remember me when I am gone away, Gone far away into the silent land: When you can no more hold me by the hand, Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay. Remember me when no more day by day You tell me of our future that you planned: Only remember me; you understand It will be late to counsel then or pray. Yet if you should forget me for a while And afterwards remember, do not grieve: For if the darkness and corruption leave A vestige of the thoughts that once I had, Better by far you should forget and smile Than that you should remember and be sad. Christina Rossetti - 1830-1894

Greater Success in Cooperation
If you think you can do something alone, either because you don’t trust others to do it or because you feel you are the most qualified…
* you will always be busy doing everything,
* you will be unhappy with others because they are not doing what you want,
* you will be dissatisfied.
It is more effective to invest your time in training and developing others. There is greater success in cooperation

Gifts Of Virtues
More valuable than the things we give to each other are the gifts of virtues we pass on quietly to others through our selfless and noble actions. These gifts are truly precious because they are imperishable and they multiply the more we share them.
Simplicity
Peace is simplicity. Simplicity is beauty. Choose a day as your day of simplicity. Speak little, and listen with attention. Do something incognito and nice for a person you are close to. Eat simple and natural food. Create time periods for not doing anything - just walk, look around, live the moment. Have your mind open to a more profound and silent sensitivity. Appreciate each scene and each person as they are. In the evening, write down your discoveries. Observe the state of your mind.

An Eye For Pearls Of Truth
There is an old story about two types of birds. The crow is the type that is attracted to dirt and filth. Wherever there is rubbish, I find the crow feasting noisily. Then there is the swan. It sees only goodness and things of value. If there are pearls and pebbles, the swan easily discerns and selects the pearls. To gossip, to lie, to use bad language is to have crow-like chracteristics. To see only the good in everything and everyone, to hear only what is uplifting is to have swan-like characteristics.

Basic Make Up Tips
Today makeup is like other fashion, anything goes if it works
for you. That means taking into consideration your skin tone, activity, age, etc.
Don't wear too much make up. The more make up you wear the older and cheaper you look. Below are some general guidelines on how to apply make up.
Foundation
Don't wear too much make up. The more make up you wear the older and cheaper you look. Below are some general guidelines on how to apply make up.
Foundation
Your make up foundation should match your skin tone. Try a small
amount of a yellow based foundation and a small amount of pink based foundation
to see which stays neutral. Go with the neutral one. If you prefer a smooth
even finish, you should use a foundation brush (a brush for foundation
application).
For oily skin use an oil-free liquid foundation. If you have normal or dry skin, try a creamy moisturizing formula.
Covering Up Dark CirclesFor oily skin use an oil-free liquid foundation. If you have normal or dry skin, try a creamy moisturizing formula.
Choose a concealer that matches your skin color or a shade
slightly lighter than your foundation. Apply foundation under eyes first and
don't forget the innermost area. For a smooth finish use a brush to blend the
concealer. A touch of powder makes it set and last longer (use sparingly).
Eyeshadow
Before applying put a little foundation or powder on the eye lid
and apply bone shadow all over the eyelid before a color.
Mascara
For best results roll brush upward when you apply. Let it dry
before adding a second coat. Waterproof formulas are too drying for everyday
use.
Lips
Use a lip liner or
pencil and don't go outside the natural borders of your lips.
5 make up tips to give you a lift
1) Wrinkles:
Avoid exposure to the sun (wear sun glasses) Avoid exposure to cigarette smoke. Stay away from anything with shimmer, it only emphasizes the wrinkles. 2) Protect Your Skin: Wear sunscreen -SPF 15 and above. Wear a hat or visor. 3) Soften the Lines: Use super-hydrating products like moisture-rich foundations, creamy eye shadows and blushes, and moisturizing balms. Use liner to prevent lipstick "bleed" 4) Powder: Apply lightly (helps your makeup last). Test a yellow-based powder and a pink-based powder to see which stays neutral and is most flattering for you. 5) Eyeliner: Apply from one corner of your eye to the other. |
Want Not
The next time you are waiting for anything, notice what you are wanting! This will be a source of your tension or impatience. All desire has fear built in - fear of not getting or losing, even before your desire is fulfilled. The secret is to want nothing, and then magic happens, for lo and behold, all that you need and more arrives in your life, at the right time, in the right way.

Enthusiasm inspires others...
The one who is constantly full of enthusiasm inspires others. Whenever problems come our way, we tend to feel weighed down by negative thoughts. Heaviness in the mind prevents us from moving forward with enthusiasm and makes it tricky for us to inspire others. Whenever I encounter a difficult situation, I need to make a special effort to remain free and light. The more enthusiastic I am, the more progress I will make. My attitude will inspire others, too.

Forgetting and Remembering
Life is a game of forgetting and remembering. You are losing the game when you... forget who you are and what you are doing here; remember the false things of the past and what they did to you. You are winning the game when you... remember your true identity of peace, remember God who is always peaceful and has unconditional love for you. Forget troubles of the past and move forward with the lessons learned. Observe what you remember during the day and what you forget during the day. Forget the past, it is gone. Don't worry about the future. You do not know it. Learn to live in the present and discover how full it is of peaceful moments.

Fix of almonds
In finding
a healthy lifestyle, I decided to look for ways to avoid bingeing on junk food
and the solution came from my curiosity with nuts. Peanuts, cashew nuts,
almonds, pistachio etc. I googled about the health benefits of eating nuts and
I resolved that amongst all the different types I would go with almonds.
So I
went looking for a supermarket I can find natural raw California almonds – the preferred
brand was “Members Mark” and luckily for me I found a shelf full of them. Quickly
I grabbed a bag which weighed about 3Kg . what it cost? I wasn’t bothered about how
expensive it was all I could think of was how it would taste in my mouth!
Three months
down the line I cannot get my taste buds off almonds, I have practically become
an almond junkie! Looking at the jar in my room where I usually store them it
has been empty for weeks and my supplier the supermarket is out of stock!!!
An
order that was placed over 4 weeks ago for three bags of
almonds and still no almonds has left me with a withdrawal syndrome. Thanks to my cousin who thought it nice to
find me some just yesterday it was a very small bowl that tasted exactly like
the almond brand I like and looking through the pack it read as its tag line….healthy
obsession. LOL!

Secrets
While I sat alone in the dark last night and all I could
hear was the air that came out from the fan in my room. My heart burden with thoughts
that will at any time now explode into what I call uncontrollable pain.
I am living with secrets that only I understand how it eats
me inside. There are times that I wish
things were different but I guess this is my life now and I have to deal with
it. Having fewer options to choose from and making the best of what you have
got. It is not an easy thing to go through; painful moments while those close
to you try to make you speak up about them whereas you know that letting the cat
out of the bag will only bring more hurt to you and the ones that care about
you. The fear of being judged or criticized is just too much to handle and the
one person that may not judge you after all is God.
I blame myself sometimes because that which haunts me was brought
about by me and me alone and It is my burden, my cross and for the sake of
peace and fear of rejection. My secrets are safe with me and me alone.

Mindful Moments
Most of us are of sound mind, but many of us have trouble maintaining a note of harmony and peace. Most of us know how to think, but few of us are able to control our thoughts. We all have the capacity to be creative, to image new ideas, but few of us are able to do it together and co-create in harmony with each other. We could all do with some mental training so that we may use the most powerful energy in the universe, the mind, which is always at our instant disposal. We can begin with mindfulness. It's a simple way to gently help our mind go where it is best to go, do what is the best thing to do. It begins by simply being fully aware of what you are doing. Mostly we are not fully aware, as our minds wander into the past and then into possible futures. We spend most of our time watching others and so rarely fully focus on what we are actually doing ourselves. Next time you sit down to a meal, watch your self. Be aware of only what you are eating. Every time your mind wants to wander, bring it gently and lovingly back to the action and sensation of eating. Then do the same when cleaning, when writing, when working. The more you do it stronger and more focused and more rational will be your concentration, the more natural will be your actions, the more peaceful you will feel, and the more relaxed you will be, no matter what you are doing.

Give Happiness
Great souls take advantage of every moment and every opportunity to give happiness to others through kindness in their thoughts; such souls are willing to overlook weaknesses and mistakes and have the desire to help everyone reach their potential.

Do it Now!
Why do we delay doing what we know we need to do? Is it because we feel we 'have to' to do it? Is it because we cannot clearly see the benefits? Is it because we will need to move some twigs in the nest of our comfort zone? Is it because we fool ourselves into waiting till we feel like doing it? Is it because someone else might be more advantaged than us? Is it because we are just plain lazy? It's probably a bit of all of those. But one thing is for sure - you've already done it in your mind! And as long as there is a gap between your thoughts and your actions then there will be an inner tension which is draining your power - whether you are aware of it or not. Do it, delegate it or dump it!
